Covid-19 Protocols
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and we are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: Our commitment to patient safety and oral health.
The California Public Health Officer has issued a new Public Health Order effective May 7, 2020. This new order has clarified that essential activities now allow for visiting a dental health care professional for chronic conditions and preventive services. Although this allows us to see patients again for a non –emergency appointment, our priority is the safety of our patients and our staff.
We are now open and seeing patients.
Our infection control processes are made so that when a patient receives care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
Patients will see changes when it is time for their next appointment.
We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.
- Our office will communicate with patients via phone prior to their appointments to ask screening questions. Patients will be asked those same questions again when arrive to the office. A temperature reading will be taken on every patient.
- Patients are to call upon arrival into the parking lot and remain in their car until we are able to bring them in.
- Patients must wear their own mask or any equivalent before entering the building and practice 6 feet of social distancing.
- Disinfecting 0.45% Betadine mouth spray will be used on every patient unless they are allergic to iodine, shell-fish or pregnant.
- Patients will be asked to use hand sanitizer when you enter the office. Hand sanitizers will be available in the reception area and other places for you to use as needed.
- All payments and next appointments will be made during check-in.
- The waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- Appointments will be managed to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment and entry into the building will be limited to the patient only unless the patient is a minor or needs physical assistance. In such cases, only one person will be able to enter with them for drop off only.
We look forward to seeing our patients again. We will do everything we can to help you get back on track with your oral health.
We value our patients trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
